Schritte for Social Development
Schritte for Social Development is a non-profit organisation that pursues non-profit objectives in accordance with the provisions concerning tax-exempt purposes under the tax laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The organisation operates on a selfless basis and does not primarily pursue economic interests.
Our Objectives
The organisation is committed to:
- Promoting the welfare of young people and older adults.
- Advancing general education, vocational education and training, including educational support for students.
- Providing support and assistance to refugees facing political, ethnic or religious persecution, displaced persons, victims and survivors of war, prisoners of war, civilian victims of conflict, people with disabilities, victims of crime and victims of disasters.
- Promoting international understanding, tolerance across all areas of culture, and mutual understanding between nations.
How We Achieve Our Objectives
We pursue these objectives primarily through the following activities:
1. Supporting Children Affected by War and Emergencies
Taking measures to alleviate the suffering of children affected by war and emergencies, creating safe living environments, and establishing centres for childcare, child protection, general education and vocational training, including in Syria and neighbouring countries.
2. Supporting the Integration of Refugees and Migrants
Encouraging the integration of refugees and migrants into society through mutual exchanges of information about traditions, values and events, while promoting positive interaction within communities.
3. Promoting Tolerance and Peaceful Coexistence
Fostering tolerance and peaceful coexistence among different cultures and rejecting all forms of violence and extremism.
Creating spaces where socially engaged individuals can build networks, strengthen their cooperation and improve the effectiveness of their work.
4. Preserving the Arabic Language
Supporting the preservation and development of the Arabic language.
5. Supporting Older Adults
Providing companionship, assistance and care for older people.
